Jeffrey Hermann, Monsanto - Genetic Disease Resistance In U.S. Canola Hybrids
Jeff is the Technology Development Manager for Specialty Crops for Monsanto, including canola. He has responsibility for germplasm advancements, biotech trait development, agronomic research, and internal and external training. Jeff has been with Monsanto for 15 years and in the agricultural industry for 23 years.
Kyle Rollness, Bayer CropScience - InVigor L140P, a New Product for a New Way to Manage Canola Harvest
Kyle has a degree in Ag Business with an emphasis in Agronomy from the University of Minnesota-Crookston. Following graduation he was a Crop Advisor for Simplot in Stephen, MN, and Agronomy Manager for Osnabrock Farmers Co-op Elevator. Currently, he is a Field Sales Rep for Bayer CropScience and is the InVigor Sales Lead.
Marc Cartwright, DuPont Pioneer - The Changing Landscape for Canola within DuPont Pioneer
Marc is the Strategic Account Manager for DuPont Pioneer servicing a sales territory in Northeast North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota to focus on canola seed sales opportunities. Marc has also held field sales agronomy and Area Agronomist roles within Pioneer.
Clarence Leschied, Northstar Agri-Industries - Ag Bag Storage Evaluation for Canola
Clarence has been in specialty crop ag processing and marketing since 1993 and built the first soybean processing plant in Western Canada. Since the mid-2000s he has worked in U.S. ag processing and was involved with winter canola in the Great Plains region where they evaluated ag bags as an alternative to conventional bin storage.

Madeleine Smith, University of Minnesota - Crookston
Madeleine is University of Minnesota Extension Plant Pathologist for small grains and canola based at the Northwest Research and Outreach Center in Crookston. Her mission is to develop research programs which apply innovative science to address disease issues and disseminate the latest research information through education programs.

Kelly Turgeon, Kittson County FSA - Hallock
Kelly is the Executive Director of the Kittson County Farm Service Agency. He has served in that role since 1987. He resides in Hallock, MN. FSA is responsible for implementing many of the farm programs in the 2014 Farm Bill, including the pending opportunity to update base acres.
Dustin Grabowska, Roseau County FSA - Roseau
Dustin Grabowska is the Executive Director of the Roseau County Farm Service Agency. He grew up in Stephen, MN, and currently resides in Argyle, MN.

Jeremy Walstrom, RCIS - Moorhead, MN
Jeremy has been a RCIS Field Service Rep since 2004, his responsibilities now include northern Minnesota. He works to create strong and long-lasting customer relations and has an extensive knowledge of crop insurance. He was recognized as the 2009 North Dakota Association of Professional Insurance Agents (NDPIA) Person of the year.

Dave Grafstrom, Northland Community & Technical College - Roseau
Dave is the site agronomist for the Minnesota Canola Production Centre. He was raised on a Roseau County farm and has a B.S. in Agronomy from UM and Ph.D from NDSU. He worked for BASF for 14 years in research, technical service, and market development. He has worked for Northland College as a Farm Business Management Instructor.
3:45 p.m. Canola: Short History, Bright Future
Brian Voth, Agri-Trend - St. Agathe, MB
Growing up in Altona, MB, Brian has a background in farming and two years experience buying canola at Bunge in Altona. Brian has completed his diploma in Ag Finance along with a B.S. in Agribusiness both from the University of Manitoba. For the last seven years he has done independent market consulting with farmers selling their grain.

Ron Beneda, NDSU Ext. - Langdon
Ron is a native of Walsh County, ND and has served as the Cavalier County Extension Agent since 1979. He has received the Cavalier County Outstanding Agriculturist Award, 2011 Canola Excellence Award (Northern Canola Growers Association), and the State Natural Resources Professional Award.
